SPEED to release first single in 5 years!

It was just last month that our beloved J-pop quartet SPEED got back together and now we have news of a release of a new single—their first in 5 years! (The group’s last single, released in 2003, was “Walking in the rain.”) The single, “Ashita no Sora,” will be released on November 5, 2008, in two versions: CD+DVD and CD-only.

Coupled with the single is a new track titled “SOMETHING NEW” and a third track featuring a medley of their past hits. Also worth mentioning is the single is composed by Hiromasa Ijichi who penned many (or is it all?) of the group’s songs in the past. The single will also have a tie-up to the upcoming Arisa Mizuki drama “OL Nippon.”

“Ashita no Sora” is available for pre-order at CD Japan.
